AMS Neve 8801 is a 1U analog channel strip based on the Neve 88RS/88R console channel strip. AMS Neve describes it as a combined mic, line and instrument preamp with dynamics processing, EQ, insert point, configurable Audio Router and USB-connected Total Recall software. The preamp section uses a Marinair specification transformer and provides mic input impedance of 1.2 kOhm, mic headroom of +26 dBu and 0-70 dB mic gain using the pad. The unit includes sweepable high- and low-pass filters, 88RS-style VCA compressor/limiter with variable or auto release and fast/slow attack, gate/expander/ducker with key input and hysteresis, four-band EQ with two fully parametric mid bands, balanced insert, +26 dBu maximum main output and optional A/D card with SPDIF, AES3 and DSD outputs up to 192 kHz.
