API ASM164 is a 16-channel rackmount analog summing mixer based on the summing section of API's THE BOX console. API's manual specifies 16 balanced line-level summing inputs on DB25 connectors, API 2510 input op amps, per-channel balanced insert send/return with illuminated insert switch, 4-segment LED level meters, continuously variable pan with center detent and 31-step detented channel level controls. Each channel can be assigned to Mix-A, Mix-B or both. The mixer provides two stereo program buses with independent inserts, 31-step output level controls and balanced low-impedance XLR outputs, plus a balanced stereo external input, Mix-A to Mix-B summing, API 2520 op amp and transformer output circuits, analog VU meters and an external power supply.
