The Audio-Technica AE2500 is a dual-element microphone combining dynamic and condenser capsules to capture both the sharp attack of a drum beater and the resonant tones of the shell. Layered resistive mesh screens control off-axis signal timing at the dynamic element's side ports, while the condenser diaphragm is precision-tensioned and aged for stable performance.
