Description
The CAD Audio M179 is a large-diaphragm condenser microphone featuring continuously variable polar patterns that transition from omnidirectional through cardioid to figure-8, allowing adjustment of room pickup and source isolation. Its 1.1-inch dual-diaphragm capsule with gold-sputtered diaphragms delivers detailed sound, while a transformerless output circuit provides transparent signal transfer. The microphone includes a selectable 20dB pad for handling high sound pressure levels, a 100Hz high-pass filter to reduce low-frequency rumble, and an internal stainless-steel filter for plosive and electromagnetic protection. Requires phantom power.
