Description
The Gyratec X from Gyraf Audio is a tube compressor using differential tube-pair gain control, the same topology employed in classic limiters like the Fairchild 670 and Universal Audio 176. It features input and threshold controls for setting compression onset, ratio and attack/release pots for shaping dynamics response, and output level adjustment. The unit includes transformer-balanced inputs and outputs with relay-based hard bypass switching, built around a minimalist differential audio signal path using selected PCC189 tubes.
