Not for Anyone needing more than 8 channels of analog conversion in one box, or more than 8 channels over USB at 192 kHz (the LT-USB card drops from 16 in/16 out at 96 kHz to 8 channels at 192 kHz). Also skip if you want front-panel XLR/TRS analog connections out of the box - all 8 ins and 8 outs are on DB25, so there is no direct plug-in path for individual jacks without DB25 breakout cabling.

The Lynx Studio Technology Aurora(n) 8 USB (MPN LYN-AN08-USB) is an 8-channel, 24-bit mastering-grade AD/DA converter with a Lynx LT-USB (USB 2.0) LSlot interface card preinstalled. It converts 8 analog inputs and 8 analog outputs on DB25 connectors at all standard sample rates from 44.1 kHz to 192 kHz, clocked by Lynx's SynchroLock-2 sample clock generator with internal clock or external word clock sync (BNC, 75-ohm; 1 input / 3 outputs). Measured performance: 119 dB A-weighted dynamic range on the line inputs and 120 dB on the line outputs, THD+N of -113 dB (input) and -108 dB (output) at 1 kHz, frequency response within ±0.010 dB (input) / ±0.025 dB (output) from 20 Hz to 20 kHz, and -130 dB maximum adjacent-channel crosstalk. Full-scale trim is software-selectable between +6 dBV and +20 dBu. Two front-panel 1/4-inch TRS headphone outputs have independent volume control (+18.4 dBu max, 120 dB dynamic range). A microSD slot records and plays up to 32 channels of broadcast WAV, and the LT-USB card carries up to 16 in / 16 out channels at up to 96 kHz, or 8 channels at 192 kHz.
