The Erica Synths Bullfrog Drums is a desktop sampling drum machine with 7 sample-based voices, an X0X-style step sequencer, and a separate CV/Gate sequencer track (1V/Oct, gate) for controlling external synthesizers. It ships with 7 banks of factory samples by Richie Hawtin and the Erica Synths team and holds up to 16 user sample banks within 64 MB of total sample memory; new sounds can be sampled through the 6.3 mm line input or the built-in microphone. Each voice provides Level, Pitch, Decay, Loop Point, Cutoff, Resonance, Drive and Pan controls. The sequencer runs up to 64 steps (4 bars) with ratchets, rolls, per-step probability, microtiming, accent, swing, parameter locks and per-track automation, and stores 4 banks of 16 patterns plus 4 banks of 16 kits. I/O includes a stereo line output (2 x 6.3 mm), a 3.5 mm stereo headphone output, a built-in speaker, MIDI In/Out on 5-pin DIN and USB-C, CV/Gate outputs on 2 x 3.5 mm jacks, and clock in/out plus reset in on 3 x 3.5 mm jacks. It runs from the included external 12 V DC supply (mains only, no battery). Aluminum enclosure, 40.5 x 18.5 x 6 cm including knobs, 2.7 kg.
