Description
The Schoeps MK8g is a bidirectional condenser microphone capsule featuring a single diaphragm with its main axis perpendicular to the capsule body. Designed for M/S stereo recording, it exhibits frequency-independent directional characteristics and decreased sensitivity at low frequencies. The capsule delivers clear, neutral sound with proximity effect present, though its response rolls off above 16 kHz and requires careful placement to avoid rear-lobe pickup that could cause comb-filter effects.
