Description
The SOMA Laboratory DVINA is an electro-acoustic instrument drawing inspiration from Hindustani and Persian classical music while accommodating European music traditions. It captures signal directly from strings vibrating in a neodymium magnetic field within the neck, then amplifies the weak signal through a custom transformer built into the body—a design principle similar to ribbon microphones. This approach delivers clean, rich sound with strong resistance to electromagnetic interference. The instrument features a minimalist construction with a solid wood neck and crossbar in ash, oak, or beech, and includes strap locks for secure body mounting. High output allows direct connection to effects pedals, amplifiers, or audio interfaces.
