The Tierra Audio Lava Preamp is a single-channel analog microphone and instrument preamplifier handmade in Madrid, Spain. It provides gain from +15 dB to +70 dB in 5 dB steps and a maximum output of +20 dBu, with a selectable microphone input impedance of 300 Ω or 1200 Ω (HI-Z) and a 400 kΩ instrument input. The signal path uses Carnhill transformers and delivers a transformer-balanced, earth-free output of less than 80 Ω. The front panel carries a SIFAM VU meter and gold-plated connectors, and the chassis is built from pure cherry wood. It runs on selectable 110 V/60 Hz or 220 V/50 Hz mains power.
