The WA12 MKII is a microphone preamp built around a discrete op-amp design based on vintage Melcor 1731 circuitry. It features the proprietary X731 op-amp, which can deliver clean tones or be driven into mild saturation at higher gain levels. The unit accepts any discrete op-amp compatible with the +/-16v, 2520 pinout standard, offering flexibility for different sonic preferences across recording applications.
