Intended use

Use Guitarists who want the classic Boss SD-1 mid-focused overdrive but with an upgraded, all-discrete analog circuit and a second Custom mode that adds more gain and a wider tonal range. Works well as an always-on transparent-ish boost/drive or to push a tube amp harder.
Not for Players who only need the plain original SD-1 sound (the standard SD-1 is cheaper and covers Standard mode), anyone wanting a true-bypass pedal, or those needing high-gain distortion or a built-in noise gate/EQ beyond a single Tone knob.

The Boss SD-1W Super Overdrive is a compact guitar effects pedal in the Waza Craft series, built with all-discrete analog circuitry and made in Japan. It has Level, Tone, and Drive knobs plus a two-position mode switch: Standard mode reproduces the classic SD-1 overdrive sound, and Custom mode adds an extended tonal range and higher gain. The pedal runs on a 9V battery or an optional PSA-series AC adaptor and draws 15 mA. It uses the standard Boss compact enclosure with a CHECK indicator that doubles as a battery-check LED.
