I have had to make these Modded pedals more expensive due to the rising price of second hand GE-7's and the cost of replacement parts.
Boss GE-7 Graphic Equalizer. I have carried out what I call my 'Silencio' low noise mod. 3 IC sockets with NE5532 low noise Op Amps. All the Caps in the signal path have ungraded to high quality Hi Fi Audiophile Caps (MMLC, Poly Box metal Film Caps, Nichicon Fine Gold and Muse High Fidelity BP Capacitors. Also has had a Blue status LED installed.
This means the there is minimum background noise created by the pedal and the general tone suck has been eliminated. The pedal can therefore be used as a Graphic Clean Boost, enhancing certain EQ bands or all of them if you wish. I have been getting amazing feedback about the mods I make on these pedals.
Gone are the ice-pick highs and noise that burden the stock pedal. Other mods change the corner frequencies so you'll never have a flat response for a clean boost, not with this kit. The problem with the stock GE-7 as with most mass production pedals is the use of cheap components and components that are not designed for audio.
The pedal can be powered with a Boss Style centre negative Power Supply Adaptor from 9v all the way up to 18v DC giving you much more headroom and making the pedal even louder at 18v before breakup. Original box has been misplaced.
