Description
The AEA TRP500 is a handcrafted preamp and DI featuring a DC-coupled JFET circuit derived from AEA's original TRP design. It delivers up to 85 dB of gain with selectable input impedance—11,900 Ohms with phantom power on, or 100,000 Ohms with phantom power off—making it particularly suited to ribbon microphones and high-impedance sources. The preamp includes a choice of 115 Hz or 230 Hz high-pass filtering and is built in Pasadena, California using locally sourced components.
