The API 527A is a VCA compressor featuring selectable feed-forward and feed-back gain reduction modes, plus a soft/hard knee switch for flexible compression character. It includes API's patented THRUST function to preserve low-end punch and a ceiling control that maintains consistent output levels during threshold adjustments. Multiple units can be linked via DC connection for stereo or multichannel use. The design incorporates discrete 2510 and 2520 op-amps.
