The API 529 is a dual-slot 500 Series stereo compressor based on API’s 2500 topology. Its front panel provides gain, threshold, attack, ratio, release, meter, and output controls, plus selectable feed-forward/feed-back compression, three knee settings, and the THRUST side-chain filter. API specifies 80 kΩ input impedance, 50 Ω output impedance, +4 dBu operating level, and +26 dBu maximum input and output levels.
