AtoVproject cDVCA is an analog Eurorack module based on a class-D-inspired VCA concept. The manual explains that an internal triangle carrier oscillator is compared with the input to create a PWM signal, which is amplitude-scaled and filtered back to audio by a 1-pole low-pass filter. It is intentionally not a transparent VCA: the Drive control lowers the carrier amplitude so the input clips against the PWM range, adding waveshaping/distortion. The carrier frequency can run from about 4 Hz to 34 kHz with no CV, tracks 1 V/oct at the frequency CV input, and can be lowered into the audio range for waveshaping or used as a square-wave source when no input is patched. The module runs on ±12 V and draws 40 mA from each rail; retailer specs list 6 HP width and 23 mm depth.
