Avalon AD2022 is a dual-mono, two-channel solid-state microphone preamplifier built around Avalon Design's fully discrete, high-voltage symmetrical Pure Class A topology. Each channel provides microphone and high-Z instrument inputs, switched gain in 4 dB steps with +/-3 dB fine output trim, selectable microphone input loading, +48 V phantom power, polarity reverse, a -20 dB input pad and a passive variable high-pass filter from 30 Hz to 185 Hz at 6 dB/octave. The microphone input uses a low-ratio transformer with selectable 50, 150, 600 and 1.5 kohm loading, while the output stage is a high-current DC-coupled Class A amplifier rated to drive +36 dB into loads. Front-panel metering includes large illuminated VU meters with twin peak LEDs. Vintage King lists the AD2022 as a 2U, 19-inch rackmount unit with MFR# AD2022; the reviewed sources did not verify a distinct black-finish manufacturer part number or GTIN.
