Intended use

Use Professional mixing and mastering engineers who want a single full-range reference (30 Hz – 45 kHz ±3 dB) that works as both a nearfield and mid-field monitor, and who currently keep NS10s or mix cubes as secondary references — the MEME voicing switch (Flat / Hi-Fi / Old School NS10M / Cube) is designed to replace those extra speakers. Also suited to hybrid setups: it takes balanced analog XLR or AES3 digital directly, with per-speaker L/R channel select for digital feeds.
Not for Anyone monitoring closer than the manufacturer's 1 m minimum listening distance (very small desks), rooms where a 71 lb, roughly 20.5-inch-wide cabinet per side is impractical, and buyers who need conventional onboard room-correction EQ — the controls are limited to input level (+3 to -6 dB in 1 dB steps), a ±2 dB subwoofer trim, and the MEME voicings. Digital-only users should note each AES3 input requires the signal to be attenuated at the source.

Description

Product details

The Barefoot Sound MicroMain26 is a 4-way active studio monitor with six drive units housed in sealed enclosures, covering 30 Hz to 45 kHz (±3 dB). Each speaker combines a 1-inch ring radiator tweeter, a 2.5-inch aluminum-cone midrange in a 3D-printed waveguide enclosure, two 5.25-inch poly/paper midbass drivers, and two opposing 10-inch Dual-Force subwoofers driven by Hypex amplifier modules with DSP crossovers. Its MEME (Multi Emphasis Monitor Emulation) technology switches between four voicings — Flat, Hi-Fi, Old School (NS10M emulation), and Cube (mix-cube emulation). It accepts balanced analog XLR input (converted internally at 24-bit/192 kHz) and AES3 digital XLR input, and is designed for nearfield or mid-field use with a minimum listening distance of 1 meter. This listing is for a pair in new condition.
