The Buzz Audio DBC-20-BLK is a studio compressor featuring a Class A discrete amplifier in balanced configuration with a custom radio steel laminated transformer coupled to the diode bridge for a tight, colorful compression character. It employs a progressive compression ratio that increases with deeper gain reduction, making it effective on dynamic sources like vocals and complex percussion. The unit offers six switchable attack and release times plus an auto release mode, a soft mode for partial peak retention, and a side-chain high-pass filter. Large pointer knobs and a 15-LED bar graph meter provide intuitive operation and visual gain reduction feedback.
