Description
The Empirical Labs Mike-E is a transformer-coupled microphone preamp with digital gain control and a low noise floor. It features a CompSat circuit combining compression and saturation stages to add warmth and tonal coloring to vocal and instrument sources. The compression design derives from Empirical Labs' Distressor technology but with distinct characteristics suited to the preamp application. A straightforward front panel layout and stepped gain control provide intuitive operation.
