Description
The Looptrotter Saturamp is a studio saturation amplifier combining vintage-inspired and modern circuitry. It features a Sowter transformer input based on the AP2620 design, a discrete operational amplifier with digitally controlled gain displayed on screen, and a three-way high-pass filter with selectable cutoff frequencies at 60Hz, 100Hz, or 160Hz. The saturation section, derived from Looptrotter's SA2RATE design, adds harmonic content while controlling peaks, and an instrument input uses discrete class-A transistor design. Digital control via relays and semiconductor switches eliminates mechanical switches from the signal path.
