The Manley Labs Variable MU is an all-tube, all-transformer compressor featuring a 5670 dual triode at its core for smooth gain reduction via vacuum tube re-biasing. It offers compress mode with a soft-knee 1.5:1 ratio and limit mode ranging from 4:1 to 20:1, with the knee softening as limiting increases. The high-pass side-chain modification comes standard, and separate threshold and output controls allow independent channel adjustment.
