Its HF/MF drivers are shared with the PMC10 and PMC12, so it fits facilities standardising on PMC's current voicing across room sizes.
Not for Home, project and near-field users: each channel is two cabinets weighing 97 kg and 87 kg (roughly 184 kg per side) plus outboard Master36 and power20 rack amplifiers, so it needs a large treated room, rigging/installation, and a wired LAN for setup. Anyone wanting a self-contained active near-field or a plug-and-play monitor should skip it.

The PMC15 XBD is a large-format, three-way, four-driver active studio reference monitor built as a two-cabinet system, with one PMC-designed 15-inch bass driver in each cabinet. High and mid frequencies are handled by a 34mm soft-dome tweeter and a PMC75v3 75mm soft-dome midrange mounted with PMC's n-compass dual-profile waveguide, while low frequencies use PMC's Advanced Transmission Line (ATL) bass loading with LaminairX vents. Each channel is powered by a PMC Master36 DSP/amplifier plus a power20 amplifier, supplying 800W each to the tweeter and midrange and 2000W to each of the two 15-inch bass drivers for 5600W per channel. The system accepts analogue and digital inputs up to 192kHz and is configured over a LAN using PMC's SoundAlign2 browser-based interface for digital crossovers, excursion protection, and room EQ. The two cabinets can be used freestanding, in vertical or horizontal stacks, or soffit-mounted side by side.
