RME 12Mic-D is a 1U 12-channel digitally controlled microphone preamplifier with Dante, MADI and ADAT connectivity. RME specifies twelve electronically balanced XLR mic/line inputs, with inputs 1-4 also accepting TRS and switchable Hi-Z instrument operation. The pad-free input stages provide 75 dB gain in 1 dB steps and accept signals up to +18 dBu. Digital I/O includes dual Gigabit Ethernet for Dante, coaxial MADI I/O, optional optical MADI SFP, three ADAT outputs and word clock I/O. The unit can receive up to 64 Dante channels and route analog or digital signals to headphones, ADAT and MADI. Control is available from the front panel, web remote and JSON/OSC-style remote protocols; the USB port is for firmware and remote control, not audio streaming.
