Product details

Royer R-122 MKII Matched Pair is a stereo pair of Royer's active ribbon microphones. Royer describes the R-122 MKII as a phantom-powered active ribbon microphone with switchable -15 dB pad and switchable bass-cut filter; when both switches are off, Royer states it operates for all purposes like an original R-122. The mic uses an electrodynamic pressure-gradient figure-8 transducer with a 2.5 micron aluminum ribbon, rare-earth neodymium magnets, patented offset-ribbon technology and a Royer-designed toroidal transformer feeding a fully balanced discrete active head amplifier. Manufacturer specs list 30 Hz-15 kHz +/-3 dB response, -36 dB sensitivity, <18 dB self-noise, 200 ohm balanced output impedance, 1 kOhm minimum load, >160 dB SPL at 1 kHz and >135 dB at 30 Hz, 48 V phantom power at 4 mA, 206 x 25 mm dimensions and 309 g weight per microphone. Retailer matched-pair data lists two microphones with wood cases, socks and clips.
