ROYER SF-24 — Microphone
Royer SF-24 is a phantom-powered active stereo ribbon microphone based on the passive SF-12, using two matched ribbon transducers stacked as a coincident stereo pair. Each ribbon is angled 45 degrees from center for Blumlein stereo and can also be used for M-S recording or as individual mono channels.

Description
Royer SF-24 is a phantom-powered active stereo ribbon microphone based on the passive SF-12, using two matched ribbon transducers stacked as a coincident stereo pair. Each ribbon is angled 45 degrees from center for Blumlein stereo and can also be used for M-S recording or as individual mono channels. Royer specifies crossed figure-8 polar patterns, 1.8-micron aluminum ribbon elements, active electronics with discrete head amplifiers and custom toroidal transformers, 40 Hz-15 kHz +/-2 dB response, -38 dB sensitivity, self-noise below 18 dB, 200 ohm output impedance, 1 kohm rated load and maximum SPL above 130 dB. The mic requires 48 V phantom power at 4 mA per channel and uses a 5-pin male XLR stereo output. Royer lists dimensions of 270 mm length, 39 mm base diameter and 25 mm top diameter, with 583 g weight.
