Description
The Rupert Neve Designs 542 is a tape emulator featuring a true tape circuit with a custom-designed transformer that emulates record and replay head behavior, producing harmonic saturation that increases with signal level. It includes a soft-clip circuit to control peak transients, selectable 15/30 IPS modes, and a Silk/Texture circuit offering three transformer tone options. A wet/dry control allows blending saturation intensity into the signal.
