Description
The Rupert Neve Designs 551 is a three-band equalizer for 500-Series format featuring custom-wound inductors, transformers, and class-A gain blocks. The low and high frequency bands switch between shelf and peak modes with 15dB of boost or cut, while the midrange band uses inductor circuitry optimized for vocals and instruments. A 12dB/octave high-pass filter is fixed at 80Hz. The design draws inspiration from vintage Neve EQ circuits while incorporating modern components and techniques.
