Intended use

Use Professional production sound mixers on film, television, and documentary sets who need high channel counts in a bag or cart rig: 16 full-featured mic/line preamps, 32 channels, 36 recorded tracks, 32x32 Dante networking for wireless racks and cart integration, and triple-redundant recording (internal 256 GB SSD plus two SD cards). Its 0.1 ppm timecode generator, word clock I/O, and external auto-record trigger suit multi-camera and timecode-critical workflows.
Not for Musicians, podcasters, and studio users who need a USB audio interface or studio console — the Scorpio's USB-C port is specified for file transfer, not multitrack computer audio, and its feature set (timecode, Dante, slate mic, com returns) targets location sound. Smaller productions should compare Sound Devices' own 833 (8 channels/12 tracks) or 888 (16 channels/20 tracks), which share the preamp design at lower channel counts and cost.

To use it
