Description
The SPL Iron v2 is a tube mastering compressor in the black finish. This revised version features Side Chain Inserts with XLR sockets, replacing the TS sockets of the previous model. It combines tube compression inspired by vintage radio-era designs with SPL's 120V technology, using specially matched Wathen CryoTone 12AX7 and 12AU7 tubes integrated through Lundahl transformers. The unit employs a variable-bias limiter topology that engages different tubes based on signal level, delivering controlled compression with presence and depth.
