The TELEFUNKEN M81-SH is the low-profile version of the M81 dynamic microphone. TELEFUNKEN describes the M81 as an M80-derived model with a flatter, more neutral frequency response and a slightly attenuated high end. Like the M80, it uses a supercardioid pickup pattern and is available in a low-profile package for close-positioned drum and instrument use. Its lower-profile format can be useful where a conventional handheld body would be difficult to place.
