Description
The Phoenix HG15 is a tube compressor with elevated gain suited for microphone inputs, particularly high-output condensers and FET types, though loud or close-miked moving coil microphones work as well. It functions as a clean mic/line amplifier with integrated active EQ, presence and air controls, plus compression for subtle, natural-sounding results. The output level control can reduce gain into low-level inputs or add character by increasing input while reducing output. Two units link together for stereo operation, and a side-chain bass cut switch aids in controlling low-frequency compression sensitivity.
